Core Principles
“I am terror. I am the blade that cuts through flesh and fear. Follow these dark teachings, and victory shall be yours to claim.”
Master the Illusions
Your power lies not just in your blade, but in those you command. Learn the dance of shadows, and your enemies will face an army where they expected one.
Dark Unity is Everything
Position is power. The distance from your shadows determines their fury. Master this dance of proximity and destruction, and watch as your battlefield becomes a symphony of chaos.
Metamorphosis is Your Calling
The demon within waits for the perfect moment. Transform not when convenient, but when decisive. A well-timed metamorphosis turns desperation into domination.
Sunder is Salvation
Death is not the end, but an opportunity. Your ultimate weapon trades despair for hope. Save it for the brink, and turn certain defeat into impossible victory.
Fear Magic, Respect Magic
Your armor is your shield against steel, but magic pierces your defenses. Infused Raindrops and positioning are your true allies against the arcane.
The Army of One
You are the commander, strategist, and warrior. Every illusion is an extension of your will. When all move as one, victory becomes inevitable, not just possible.
Hero Overview
Terrorblade is a terrifying late-game carry who specializes in overwhelming opponents with powerful illusions and devastating ranged damage in Metamorphosis form. His unique Dark Unity ability allows his illusions to deal varying damage based on distance, creating complex strategic possibilities for positioning and engagement.
His gameplay revolves around creating and managing illusions effectively, utilizing Reflection for both offensive pressure and defensive utility, and timing Metamorphosis for maximum impact. Sunder serves as his ultimate trump card, capable of reversing deadly situations by swapping health percentages with enemies or allies. A skilled Terrorblade can single-handedly win teamfights through proper illusion positioning and target selection.

Ability Analysis

Reflection
ActiveTerrorblade creates an illusion of a target enemy hero. Reflection illusions carry all the auras that normal illusions carry but don't consider Terrorblade to be the damage source.
Notes: Works on heroes in fog but not invisible heroes. Perfect for both offense and defense. Can be used to interrupt channeling abilities and create confusion in teamfights. Use it on dangerous heroes to neutralize their threat temporarily.

Conjure Image
ActiveCreates an illusion of Terrorblade under your control. Each Conjure Image cast spawns the illusion in a counterclockwise fashion around your hero.
Notes: Use illusions to stack jungle camps, serve as wards, intercept creep waves, or deny runes. If you create an illusion on the exact same tick that Metamorphosis times out, the illusion will spawn in Metamorphosis form for its entire duration.

Metamorphosis
ActiveTransforms Terrorblade into a ranged demon, gaining bonus damage and attack range. Terrorblade illusions can only be in Metamorphosis form if the real hero is within 1200 range.
Notes: This is your main fighting and pushing ability. Coordinate with team for maximum impact during teamfights. Illusions created while in this form will maintain it even after transformation ends if timed correctly.

Sunder
Target UnitSunder swaps health percentages with a target unit. Can be cast on allies and illusions. Has a minimum HP transfer percentage.
Notes: Can be cast through Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast. Works on borrowed enemies like from Helm of the Undying. If you use Sunder while in 'wraith' form, you will Sunder the target as if you have 1 HP. Cannot be cast on debuff immune/BKB'd targets.

Metamorphosis (Shard Upgrade)
ActiveMetamorphosis provides a fear effect on attack to nearby enemies, and grants bonus attack speed to Terrorblade and his illusions.
Notes: The Shard upgrade significantly enhances your teamfight presence. The fear effect helps control fights while the attack speed bonus increases your damage output substantially.

Terror Wave (Aghanim's Scepter)
ActiveReleases a wave of terror in a cone, dealing damage and applying a fear effect to enemies. The wave follows your hero as you move.
Notes: The wave follows your hero similar to Shiva's Guard active. There is a brief delay before the fear actually goes out. The fear can be dispelled by basic dispels. Excellent for controlling teamfights and protecting your position.

Tips & Strategies
Illusion Management
- Terrorblade's Dark Unity innate changes how much damage your illusions do depending on how far they are from your hero.
- Reflection works on heroes that are in fog, but not invisible heroes.
- Each Conjure Image cast spawns the illusion in a counterclockwise fashion around your hero.
Metamorphosis Mastery
- Terrorblade illusions can only be in Metamorphosis form if the real hero is within 1200 range of them.
- If you create an illusion on the exact same tick that Metamorphosis times out, the illusion will spawn in Metamorphosis form for its entire duration.
- This works with both Conjure Image and Manta Style illusions.
Sunder Strategy
- Sunder can be cast on allies and illusions (like Conjure Image or Manta Style illusions).
- You can Sunder through Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast to gain HP.
- If you use Sunder while in a 'wraith' form, you will Sunder the target as if you have 1 HP.
- Sunder has a minimum HP transfer percentage. If you and a target are both under the percentage, Sunder will heal you both to the minimum.

Counter Guide
Good With
Terrorblade excels with heroes who can protect him and enhance his illusion-based playstyle. Shadow Demon provides excellent synergy with Disruption creating additional illusions and Poison for slow, while Oracle offers both protection through Fate's Edict and damage amplification with Fortune's End. Chen and Enchantress can maintain map control while Terrorblade farms, and Dazzle provides both protection with Shallow Grave and burst healing with Shadow Wave. The key is heroes who can either protect Terrorblade's vulnerable early game or amplify his late-game dominance through additional control or damage modifiers.
Bad Against
Terrorblade struggles against heroes with strong area-of-effect damage, instant-kill abilities, or magic burst. Nyx Assassin with Spiked Carapace and Mana Burn can instantly kill illusions and disrupt TB's mana pool, while Phantom Lancer can overwhelm Terrorblade with even more illusions. Shadow Shaman and Lion provide devastating disables that can prevent Sunder usage or kill TB before he can respond. Ancient Apparition denies Sunder's healing potential with Ice Blast. Dagon carriers and instant-kill spells like Skywrath's Mystic Flare can wipe illusions instantly. Magic burst heroes like Lina and Zeus exploit Terrorblade's low HP pool despite his high armor. Any hero with mass illusion-clearing capabilities or strong single-target burst poses a serious threat to Terrorblade's game plan.
Good Against
Terrorblade dominates against heroes who rely on single-target damage, lack burst capability, or are vulnerable to sustained damage. Sniper and Drow Ranger are easy prey as they lack mobility and burst to handle TB's illusion pressure and high armor. Anti-Mage struggles against TB's high armor and illusion-based damage output, especially with Mana Break's reduced effectiveness. Crystal Maiden and other squishy supports get overwhelmed by reflection illusions and sustained damage. Melee carries who need to get close like Juggernaut or Ursa trigger massive damage from coordinated illusions while being kited. Heroes without burst cannot deal with TB's high HP pool and Sunder mechanics. Terrorblade excels at wearing down enemies who cannot quickly clear his illusions or burst through his combined health pool, making him particularly effective against teams that rely on sustained single-target damage.
